Two-thirds of Americans believe we should attempt to mitigate climate change. A much higher percent of scientists also believe this. A Jan. 31 Letter to the Editor from Don Buck places him squarely in the category of those who wish to do nothing about climate change.
Buck treats us to a series of exaggerations, over-statements and lies. Finally, he gets to his main point when he concludes with hoping we can "continue enjoying our present lifestyle." Of course, this self-serving greed is at the center of most deniers' minds.
As we increase greenhouse warming gases into our atmosphere, our planet will continue to warm. The main cause is the burning of fossil fuels, which release previously locked away carbon into the air.
If we care about our grandchildren and their children, then we care about climate change.
