Olmsted County Commissioner Sheila Kiscaden has been tapped to serve on a task force that will examine what to do with the state's health insurance exchange.
Kiscaden was one of 11 people appointed by Gov. Mark Dayton on Friday to the Task Force on Health Care Financing. The group is charged with coming up with recommendations for the future of health care programs in Minnesota — including MNsure and MinnesotaCare.
Lawmakers passed a bill in May that established the 29-member task force comprised of lawmakers, health care experts, key commissioners and citizens. The task force is expected to start meeting in August and make its recommendations to the governor and Legislature by Jan. 15, 2016.
Kiscaden, of Rochester, is a former state senator. She served on House committees focused on health care throughout her legislative career.
