Dealership revs up

Here's the follow-up to my earlier car dealership tease:

A young Rochester entrepreneur is shifting plans for his second used car dealership into high gear.

The 20-year-old Britt Koball plans to open the Britt Koball Signature Collection dealership in July at 4125 U.S. 52 North.

That spot is the former Taco John's location that was briefly occupied by Meatheads deli and meat market in 2009.

This is Koball's second foray into the world of car sales. He opened his first dealership at 6555 U.S. 14 East two years ago, when he was 18.

That dealership will become the Bargain Connection , dealing vehicles listing at $5,000 or less. The new lot will offer "more exclusive," with more costly wheels like Jaguars.

"A lot of people say to me, 'Is this the right time to do this?" Koball says. "I say, 'Absolutely.'"

Opening this location does not require a large investment, but it extends the reach of his business and gives him space to double his inventory, he says.

"The business has been slowly getting bigger, bigger and bigger. I started with 10 (vehicles); now we have 40, and with this new property we'll have 80," he says.

Koball will manage the Bargain Connection lot and his sales manager, Paul Gideo , will run the new Signature Collection.

Look for new landscaping on the ex-Taco John's lot, but not a lot of changes with the building.

"It is a good building. It just needs some TLC," he says.
