Rep. Steve Drazkowski said he is "seriously considering" a run for Congress following 2nd District GOP Rep John Kline's announcement earlier today he would not seek re-election.
"I've been having a lot of people call and encourage me and a lot of friends and legislative colleagues, so I am strongly considering it," the Mazeppa Republican said.
Before making a decision, Drazkowski said he needs to "learn a little bit more about what a road map would look like from here to here." He also needs to talk with his family about a run.
Drazkowski has served in the Minnesota House since 2007.

Kline, of Burnsville, announced that he would not seek re-election in 2016. He was first elected to Congress in 2002 and serves as chairman of the House Education and the Workforce Committee.
Drazkowski said he plans to make a decision on whether to run "sooner rather than later," with a goal of announcing his decision within the next few weeks.
