Fall Showcase of Homes
At the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours at First Security Bank earlier this week (More on this event later), I was asked how the Fall Showcase of Homes was going.
Here's the answer. It is also in today's print edition:
Rochester area home builders are opening the doors of many of their latest houses tonight and through the weekend as the Fall Showcase of Homes continues.
The annual event, which allows people to tour a number of new homes and visit with builders, started last weekend.
"Each home had between 25 to 400 visitors the first weekend," says Sandy Friend, executive director of Rochester Area Builders Inc. She believes attendance might be a little better than last year’s event, though fewer homes are listed this year -- 70 homes compared with 77 on last year’s tour.
The houses were judged last weekend by industry professionals from throughout the state as well as locally. Top houses in each of the six price division are now marked with trophies and balloons.
• 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and Friday
• Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
A map listing the homes was published in the Sept. 13 edition of the Post-Bulletin. It’s also available online at www.rochesterareabuilders.com or at the Rochester Area Builders office, 108 Elton Hills Lane N.W.
