Freight Yard Bar still chugging along ... for now

Contrary to reports (by me),  The Freight Yard Bar and American Restaurant is still open and serving up drinks and food.

However, it does seem like owner Steve Leecould be tinkering with things a bit, which might explain the slightly erratic hours at the bar at 821 Civic Center Dr NW.

Some folks are even saying April might be the final month for the bar.

Even so, it is open now and operating as usual.

And the "For Lease" sign out front is not for the bar building.

The former gas station-turned-bar along Civic Center is always worth keeping an eye on, because it has made a few transformations over the years.

It closed as a Holidaygas station in 2006. After sitting empty a while, it was eventually turned into the popular Beer Bellyz Bar and Grill.

It next became  Players Sports Grillefor a short stretch followed by a spell as the new home for Bilotti's Italian Village

Then it morphed into Bilotti'zand then the Freight Yard pulled in the station.

Leitzen Concrete Productsof Rochester bought the 46-year-old building for $650,000 in May 2017 bought from the Estate of John (Jack) M. Prow.

Prow purchased the building from Kwik Trip's Northwest Investmentsfor $460,000 in 2007. Northwest bought it from competitor Holiday in 2006 for $750,000.
