I-35 closed at Highway 30 in Steele County
ROCHESTER, Minn. – (1:30 p.m.) Interstate 35 south of Highway 30 is closed in both lanes because of numerous vehicle crashes and jackknifed semis, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
A detour is planned and details will be updated as emergency personnel establish the route.

Blowing snow has created icy conditions and reduced visibility.
The crashes have occurred south of the Ellendale exit, near the Geneva exit on I-35 in southern Minnesota.
Motorists should expect delays for the next several hours.
