Ice Hawks, a disappointing Friday

PHERSY:Now come on Hawks fans, let's not get too down on the squad.

Certainly the loss to the Flying Aces wasn't pretty. But let's not forget the Ice Hawks outshot them 48-18. That's insane!

I suppose it's more insane that they lost a game in which they outshot their opposition 48-18. But they didn't get good goaltending on Friday, and they just can't seem to finish right now.

Honestly, though, I'd rather they have this problem now, as opposed to two months from now. This team has big-time goals and big-time potential. They'll get it together, and you better believe coach Fatis always has his eyes open for new talent.

They are having trouble putting the puck in the net right now, there's no doubt about it. But it's something they will continue to work on. And sometimes it's just a matter of puck luck, or just having something click one day.

I'm not worried at this point. Fatis will figure it out before February. I think the Ice Hawks will sweep all three games this weekend, and they'll feel a lot better about themselves.
