But, you will pay the price for not paying attention! I don't care if you are Republican, Democrat or Independent, we need to pay attention to what our Congress is doing. This past week, our Congress passed a bill that cost us over $2 trillion dollars over the next two years.
The proposed tax increase was not a tax increase at all. It would have put the tax rate at the same rate it was when President Reagan was in office. And the cut was for the wealthy. The fact is that those tax cuts for the wealthy did not work to produce jobs over the past 10 years, so why should we expect that they would now.
What happened, unless your net income is over $250,00000, you will continue to bear the tax burden. You, the majority of America who work hard just to make ends meet and have very little discretionary spending, will pay the costs of government.
The people who pushed this through, are those individuals, Democrats, Republicans and Independents, who would profit from such an extension, the wealthy! And to hold hostage those
people who need job loss benefits is atrocious. What would be wrong with our representatives, representing the majority of Americans instead of themselves? We really need to pay attention. We need to hold them accountable.
