Johnson would bring much-needed change to Congress

Since 1992, both Democrats and Republicans have had their turns controlling Congress. I have pulled the lever in the voting booth eight times since 1992, and have seen nothing change except the size of the Code of Federal Regulations. The middle class continues to shrink. The war du jour just keeps on being fought. The national debt explodes.

It's time to look for a candidate who owes nothing to any party organization. Just a few independents who can't be harassed by a party machine could break up the insider trading in Congress. An independent would have to listen to his/her constituents, because he/she would owe loyalty to the people, not the party leaders.

The only person running in the 1st District who has no affiliation with any party is Lars Johnson. This alone shows the guy has guts — he's already bucking the system. I've contacted him and actually received a response, which is more than I can say for the Republican and Democratic candidates.

In the past I have been concerned about voting outside the party structure, because I didn't think an independent could win, but I am tired of voting for the same old thing. I want to see someone beholden to no one but his constituents as my representative.
