Kelliher, Gunyou know the ropes
I am writing to encourage all voters in Tuesday's DFL primary to vote for the team of Margaret Anderson Kelliher and John Gunyou for governor and lieutenant governor.
Not only is Kelliher a skilled legislator, dedicated to the values of fairness and equality that Democrats hold dear, and experienced in dealing with state government, she has shown her total commitment to financial competence by selecting an outstanding expert on Minnesota state finances as her running mate.
John Gunyou is currently the city manager for Minnetonka. He has a B.S. degree in economics from the U.S. Air Force Academy and M.S. degrees in finance and public administration from UCLA and the University of Colorado. He was financedDirector for Minneapolis from 1984-1991 and state Commissioner of Finance under Republican Gov. Arne Carlson from 1991-1994. He has taught at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute and is an expert in the fields of job creation and balanced budgets.
With a budget deficit for the current biennium of $1.2 billion and a projected $5.4 billion deficit for the 2012-2013 biennium, we need an experienced team in the governor's office. To get Minnesotans back to work and Minnesota back on track, vote for Margaret Anderson Kelliher and John Gunyou on Tuesday.
