'Let the owners choose'

From Larry Hanson, Rochester:

When will the city, county and federal government stay out of the way as far as smoking is concerned in bars and restaurants in Rochester and Olmsted County?

The solution: Simply let the owners choose what they want! Let the nonsmokers have their own space and the smokers their own space. Why isn't this left up to the people that own these businesses to choose and decide as they pay their bills, and plenty of taxes too.

If a restaurant or bar is nonsmoking, you don't have to go there and if the restaurnat or bar is smoking, you don't have to go there. Why is the choice no longer left up to the people who frequent these businesses?

What will be next -- the drinkers of alcohol versus the nondrinkers? Will the vegetarians have to have their own space and the meateaters their own space?

Instead of the city, county and federal government focusing on these issues, they should be focused on the homeless that are sleeping on the streets, and under the bridges here in the land of Mayo Clinic.
