Letter: Gathering at street corner aims to show we are together
It is time for me to do something to build community and demonstrate we are together in our city, or area. So, on Tuesday, July 26, from 6:55 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. — So I may get back to the parking ramp early — I will be on the corner of Second Street and First Avenue Southwest in Rochester. My sign will say "We are together."
Don't ask: Policing, education, housing, health care — we will work toward answers together. Just stand and make a commitment.
This is not a faith community or chamber or Rotary or clergy gathering. I am a member of all those communities. All persons are welcome.
If radio and TV want to announce this or join us, they are welcome. We will stay on the sidewalk and the line may go all the way to St. Marys Hospital and to the river. We will act peacefully.
Join me: We are together.
