The writer of Tuesday's letter to the editor regarding the president's statistics was inferring that Trump made testing one of the causes for COVID-19. The following is meant to clear up that misconception: Ten people feeling very sick went into ER, and it was diagnosed as COVID-19. A different set of 10 people went to their medical team and asked for a COVID-19 test. That testing showed all 10 had COVID-19, but no symptoms had shown up. Now, what should the count be : 10 or 20? Did the testing cause COVID-19?
