This letter is paid content. This election I’m voting for Mark Bransford in Ward 2.
It’s time for a change in Ward 2, when I first met Mark I was deeply impressed. He has common sense. I’ve watched him listen to others, not just spout off his opinion.
I used to support Michael Wojcik, when he sought out for my support a few months ago, I was honest and told him ‘no’ and I gave him my reasons:
• Taking 100% raise for himself during Covid 19 and then wanting city staff to give back their 2% raise is shocking, tone-deaf and selfish.
• Three good businesses, Kemps, Seneca, and AMPI, all left town and he did nothing. According to a U of M study, we lost 650 jobs almost $270 million in economic activity.
• His constant attack of Rochester citizens, including the County Board, Superintendent Michael Munoz, the Police Chief, Ardell Brede, Civic Volunteers, Steve Kvenvold, Andy Chafoulias (who has never even met Mr. Wojcik) and now – only after I told him I wouldn’t support him politically – he is attacking me.
Denise Welte, who also ran for the seat, quickly supported Mark after the primary. That speaks volumes to me.
I won’t agree with Mark every time, but I know one thing: when I disagree with him, he will handle it with maturity. That is so needed right now.
I support Mark Bransford. I hope you will, too. It’s time for a change.
