I am very happy to announce that I was able to obtain $30,000 from the Senate Legacy Committee for the repair and restoration of the historic wall at the Kasson Veterans Memorial Park. This, combined with local contributions, will assist in preserving this important piece of Kasson history for future generations.

The bill now awaits action by the House of Representatives and a conference committee before moving on to the governor for his signature.

On Nov. 4, 2008, Minnesota voters approved the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. It enacted a 3/8 of one percent sales tax to be used to preserve and enhance some important elements of our state. As you make purchases and pay this sales tax, know that some of it is coming back to Kasson for this important project.
