I never got the memo. Apparently, anglers/boaters showing courtesy to other anglers by slowing down as they pass is old-fashioned and out the window.

Now, we never go out on the river during summer weekends, nor during fishing tournaments. We weren't born yesterday. But these days, it seems that any angler with a 200-hp (and up) motor feels obligated to operate it at full throttle, zooming past other anchored anglers (especially canoes).

They know you're there, enjoying the peace and quiet. They don't care. Just like some motorist performing a rude maneuver, their "rights" are more important than yours.

C'mon boys. Slow it down a bit, ok?
