I would like to take issue with the Jan. 27 letter to the editor regarding the gun show's proximity to the Eagles Telethon at Mayo Civic Center. Specifically, I object to the claim that the gun show is not "family-friendly."
We had many families come through with children of all ages to view the displays at the show. It gives people the chance to see things they might not see anywhere else. There were historical guns from the old west up to modern hunting rifles.
As a hunter and firearms safety instructor, I do not sensationalize killing. I am sure the telethon appreciated our donations, and we encouraged everybody to patronize the food venders inside.
I know my crew loves when I treat them to Roscoe's for lunch!
