Animal owners must treat their animals humanely. Animals deserve to have a quality of life just like us.
We need to realize that the animals that we choose to have, such as dogs and cats, Guinea pigs, bird, and any other animal, are our responsibility. Because pets want to please who they love. When they are cared for, they can do what comes naturally and they will respect us.
It is well known that pets are just like our kids and are often loved just as much as our kids, and need to be able to act like themselves knowing that they are loved.
On the other hand, there are those who think that those of use who love animals are over-reacting to bad situations. They say "I couldn't afford to buy them food" or "the medicine costs too much." Sometimes they claim ignorance on the subject. "We didn't know they needed those things." When they are called on for leaving their animals outside in the heat of summer or the cold of winter, they say that animals don't belong in the house.
Animals deserve to be cared for the same as we do. The first step to creating positive change for these animals is recognizing the cruelty that threatens them.
Different animals have different needs and those needs should be researched before the animal is bought or received from someone else. It is necessary for the health of the animal, and for animal and owner to be happy.
