Am I the only non-sports guy whose mind is boggled by our Legislature even debating whether state money should go into buffing up Rochester's infrastructure for Mayo and our community?
We build a new playpen for the Twins. We seemingly are bending over backward to make sure the Vikings are happy.
Yet Mayo, a medical center for the world, is getting put through the ringer because they didn't present their plea for money with enough deference? You'd think with all the good Mayo does medically — without even factoring in all the paychecks they write — our legislators in St. Paul would be doing everything they could to make Rochester an even better destination.
Makes a person wonder if the medical facilities in the Twin Cities are putting pressure on legislators, lest Mayo start looking too good.
