Here's the follow-up to the earlier tease about a new Rochester store focusing on snowboarding and other extreme sports. The pic is of Buck Sexton in action during a snowmobiling event :
One couple is braving the stormy economy to open a local extreme sports store - The Scene - in Rochester.
Expect snow boards, BMX bikes, Fox Racing gear, skateboards and wake boards in the summer. "Basically we’ll have everything to do with bikes and boards," says owner Buck Sexton.
Sexton and his wife, Jennifer , are gearing up for a grand opening on Nov. 29 at 297 37th St. N.W., in same building as Little Bob’s Auto Body shop. They might roll out a soft opening a few days before that.
Why open an extreme sports store?

"My wife and I both have been into the sports for a long time. I started snowboarding when I was 11," says Buck Sexton. "Now our son and daughter both snowboard."
Sexton says the closing of Board To Death Sports and MDC in recent years left only Big Box stores for extreme sports enthusiasts.
He and his wife want to change that and they have been working toward opening a store for 10 years.
Is he intimidated to open a new business when so many are struggling and closing?
"If we can make it through these times, we can make it through anything," he says.
