FELDY: Rochester native Mark Stuart, a third-year defenseman for the NHL's Boston Bruins, was originally said to be out 4-to-6 weeks when he suffered a broken sternum in mid-December. It looks like he's right on that timeline, maybe a little ahead of schedule.
A report on the Bruins' Web site late last week said Stuart was back out on the ice, skating with the team at practice on Thursday. As the article notes, Stuart's injury caused his streak of 214 consecutive games played to come to an end. He had played in every game with the Bruins since he stuck on their roster in the 2007-08 season.
Stuart hesitated to estimate a date that he could be back in game action.
