Nice guy, but a Packers fan ... Packers fan, nice guy ...

Posted by: Feldy

Skip Kendall has earned more than $7.6 million on the PGA Tour. He's a very personable guy, and he hosts a Pro-Am event every summer to benefit the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

He's a three-time winner on the Nationwide Tour, but he hadn't won in 384 pro tournaments played until March 25, when he captured the title at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open. He's currently in fifth place on the Nationwide Tour season money list. If he plays average golf the rest of the summer, he'll secure a PGA Tour card for 2008.

He's in Byron this week to play in the Showdown at Somerby, his 10th Nationwide Tour event of the season.

Here's the problem: He grew up in Milwaukee, and his response when asked if he's a Packers fan was this: "Oh, when you grow up in that part of the state, you bleed green and gold."

You'd always like to see a nice guy like Kendall win an event ... but he roots for a team that has fans like this (third pic down, left-hand side) . ... I'm torn, so I'll take the easy way out: it'd be great if Kendall wins this week and the Packers have a lousy season.
