I congratulate President Obama on circumventing our ineffectual, feeble Congress by his executive order recognizing this reality: That illegal immigrants brought into America before the age of 16 deserve a reprieve in their deportation hearings.
They were brought here as children. Republicans in Congress were too crass, too perfidious and too cynical to recognize the human rights of those immigrants who were brought here while they were still children, while the Democrats were too timorous, faint-hearted and cowardly to act on their convictions.
Somebody had to act to correct that festering situation.
