It doesn't take much to figure out the state is spending outside its means. With the budget deficit coming up, we need people in the Legislature who know how to watch the taxpayers' dime.
Our current representative doesn't seem up to the task. Ms. Poppe was quoted in the Post-Bulletin that her current pay should be increased because it's not "commensurate with the expectations of the job." Does she want an increase in pay, when most families are getting by with less?
With her score of zero out of a possible 100 points from the Taxpayers League, she doesn't seem to want to vote on the side of the taxpayer. We need better.
I've been retired for 24 years and I can't afford any more taxes.
