Roch. film festival moves to Galaxy 14

New theater opening 1st week of Nov.

Here's some from an interesting item written by astute reporter Matt Russell:

The week-long Rochester International Film Festival is changing venues this year, m oving from Chateau Theatres to the recently opened Wehrenberg Galaxy 14 Cine .

The festival, which features films brought to Rochester from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival, will be held May 2-8.

The auditorium at Wehrenberg will be larger than the auditorium the festival had at Chateau, but Wehrenberg was chosen because it’s a new theater and it has digital projectors, said Dr. Alan Hoffman, a volunteer with the Rochester International Film Group.

Details are still being finalized for the festival’s lineup. Complete details will be available Thursday in the Post-Bulletin.

The Rochester International Film Festival started in 1996 and was held at the now-defunct Theaters at Galleria until 2002, when it moved to Chateau.
