A Wells Fargo Financial office in Rochester is one of the 638 that the banking institution is closing nationwide as part of a corporate restructuring.
However, Wells Fargo spokeswoman Diana Rodriguez cannot say yet how many employees will lose their jobs.
"…Because we are working closely with our community banking division to place as many team members as possible, we do not have a specific number yet…," she said Friday.
Beside the Rochester office in the 940 37th St. Northwest branch, 12 other Minnesota offices are slated to close in 60 days. It is estimated that up to 80 Minnesota employees are in danger of losing their jobs.
Wells Fargo Financial is the arm of Wells Fargo & Co. known for handling sub-prime loans.

The changes won't impact Wells Fargo and Wachovia community banks across the country, the bank said.
