While I would admit that the current abuse of veterans by VA administrators looking for a bonus check is unprecedented, all of us who have worn the uniform of our country have heard of the poor care provided to veterans by the VA. It's not the employees — it's the government bureaucracy. The only new aspects of the current VA horror story are the bogus waiting lists, the documented lists of veterans awaiting care and the payment of bonuses to the guilty bureaucrats.
Rep. Tim Walz's blind obedience to President Barack Obama won't let him recognize that the story of VA care is a precursor to the implementation of Obamacare. He admits that Obamacare has problems, but asks voters to give it more time.
The VA was formed in 1930 — maybe we need to give it a little more time?
Does no one see the similarities between big government mismanagement of veterans' health care and bigger government's power grab over our entire health-care system? If government hasn't improved care for veterans in all these decades, what are the odds that big government will sort out the problems related to Obamacare?
Do you think government-run health care is the way to go? Just ask any veteran how it's working out for us!
