On this Veterans Days, I urge everyone to do what we should do everyday.
Thank a veteran for their service
It doesn't matter if they served during wartime or not. All military service protects and benefits the rest of us.
My favorite veteran is my father - Joe Kiger - who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. And I know what a modest man he is and how he always says somebody else deserves thanks more than him.
Welll, ee does deserve it as do the thousands of men and women out there who have served or continue to serve.

No matter if you embarrass them, make sure to show your appreciations to all veterans you know.
When I had the honor of traveling with a large group WW II veterans on the first Honor Flight trip from Rochester to see the World War II memorial. I saw strangers walk up and thank those men and women for their service.
And I saw the vets' faces. They were overwhelmed with emotion.
Let them know you appreciate their service.
