Thank you, veterans, for sacrificing and serving in the military.
The John Marshall Memorial Service was moving and patriotic, including a Color Guard,
"Amazing Grace" played on bagpipes, and a large screen showing faces of local fallen heroes. We enjoyed the microphone time for mothers, fathers, wives, children, friends and fellow veterans who wanted to honor the memory of fallen heroes.
Being part of this most solemn ceremony made me aware of sacrifices veterans make so that we can be free.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.
