Top Shots! comes out shooting
Talk about a quick draw.
It took just 30 days to turn an empty shell with concrete walls and a sand floor into a sleek new downtown bar in the City Centre building on South Broadway.
Top Shots! was open by invite Sunday and the doors opened up to the general public Monday night.
Crowds of pool and dart players could be seen bathed in a neon glow lighting up downtown Broadway.
Thanks to man-about-town and guy-in-the-know Jeff Hagge for the tip about last night's opening.
Popped by there this morning and chatted with majority owner Ross Manahan, who seems very happy how his latest project has turned out.
I'd say it turned out how he described it to me this summer - "an upscale, industrial-design, pool-and-darts bar."
Expect a shiny, black marble bar, wood walls, neon lights all around including glowing LED beer coolers behind the bar, six pool tables and three dart board machines.
Manahan, who also owns Grumpy's Bar/ Southside Saloon and Billiardsand in Grand Meadow, is the lead in this watering hole with partners Krissie Pauley, Brad Peterson and Rudy Naul.
This is first tenant to open up in developer Joe Weis' City Centrebuildings, since its McGladrey moved in as the anchor on the third floor.
