I know this may seem like a trivial problem compared to all the other international, national and local problems we have, but it's a problem to me.
On Monday night at about 8:15, my wife and I were stopped at a red light on Ninth Street Southeast, attempting to turn left (south) on to Broadway. We waited more than seven minutes and did not get a green light. Several times during that seven minutes, there were no cars coming from either direction for three or four blocks. Finally, we gave up and turned right.
Situations like this have happened to us several times at this light. Is this traffic light really supposed to work this way? I thought these lights either were on timers or have sensors to detect traffic.
