In the October/November issue of Mayo Today -- OK, I'm catching up on my reading -- there's a story about how Mayo commissioned a consumer survey, "asking people nationwide where they would prefer to go for treatment of a serious medical condition."

To the clinic's credit, people mentioned Mayo three times more than any other academic medical center -- 18.6 percent as the first mention and 8 percent as a second or later mention.

Funny thing is, the other institutions aren't identified by name. It'd be interesting to know what the other institutions are with comparable national reputations -- Johns Hopkins? Cleveland Clinic? Where else?
