In his May 4 letter to the editor, Dave Colburn asserted that I probably had grown up in the city and therefore could know nothing about what it would be like having a windmill nearby. Wrong. I was born on a farm and in later years spent a lot of time visiting my country cousins. When they came to Minneapolis to visit my house located adjacent to street car tracks, they had trouble sleeping. We had adjusted. I now live a block from 11th Ave. N.E., which is used frequently by the police and fire department with their sirens. I am also very close to the train tracks and their horns. I am very adjusted to the sounds. This hasn't made me against police, fire departments or trains. As we see our fragile economy struggling against the Gulf tragedy, the windmills look even better.
