Your Turn: Another increase in the gas tax?

In 2008, Minnesota increased its gas tax by 8.5 cents per gallon, with all of the revenue devoted to roads and bridges. Today, the Legislature is considering another gas tax increase — this one a 5 percent sales tax that would be imposed at the wholesale level (and presumably passed along to consumers at the pump). It would raise an estimated $360 million per year.

What's your take? Are you prepared to spend more at the pump if those dollars are spent improving roads and replacing bridges? Or should the state find a different way to pay for its transportation infrastructure?
