Patricia Anne Bite, beloved wife and mother, died of cancer Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Rochester Methodist Hospital. She was 57 years old.
Pat was born Dec. 10, 1953, to Wilson and Evelyn Bryant (Murphy) in London, Ontario, Canada. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1974 with a B.S. in biology and in 1983 with a degree in physiotherapy. Pat worked as a physical therapist in the ICU, cardiac, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation departments at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. She married Uldis Bite, M.D., on April 30, 1983, and moved to Rochester in 1990.
Pat loved gardening and was known for her elaborate and beautiful gardens. She was a Master Gardner for many years in the Rochester community and also served as the volunteer coordinator at Harriet Bishop Elementary School. In addition, Pat enjoyed horseback riding, reading, and spending time with her dogs and cats.
Pat was a unique, wonderful, and caring person and her family will miss her very much.
Survivors include her husband, Uldis Bite; three daughters, Anna, Julia and Marisa Bite, all of Rochester; sister, Kathleen Adams, and step-sister, Judy Young, both of London, Ontario. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Bryant; and daughter, Lija Bite.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at noon at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, with Father Nick Mezacapa officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Mayo Clinic’s transplant program or liver transplant research.
