WELCH — Play Ball! Minnesota will conduct a free youth baseball clinic at the Prairie Island Indian Community on May 5.
Hosted by Treasure Island Resort & Casino and Red Wing Youth Baseball, the 90-minute clinic will take place at 11 a.m. the Prairie Island Indian Community Sports Complex across Sturgeon Lake Road from the resort.
Play Ball! Minnesota Clinics are for boys and girls ages 6-13. Instructors will provide all the necessary equipment; however, players should bring their gloves. No advanced registration is required, but participants must complete a waiver form on-site before they will be allowed to participate.
The Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinics are free of charge. Funding is provided by the Twins Community Fund and Great River Energy. Treasure Island Resort & Casino contributes annually to the Fund.
“Generations of young Twins fans have honed their baseball skills at our free clinics for more than 55 years,” said Bryan Donaldson, Executive Director, Twins Community Fund. “We are proud to continue the tradition of bringing Twins baseball instruction... (to) Twins Territory.”
Another clinic stop is scheduled for June 23 in Owatonna.
