Final testing will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Students need to be in school only when testing. Buses will run as usual.

Seniors are reminded to bring their caps, gowns and dress clothes to school Friday. The class photo and graduation practice will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The graduation ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Alumni Hall. Parents, friends, relatives and alumni are invited.

The senior class party will be from 10 p.m. Friday to 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the Great Hall at Resurrection Catholic Church.

Rotary International is offering foreign travel and study for one year for high school students interested in living in the homes of students in a foreign country. Students must be 16 years old by fall 1997 and no older than 18-1/2. Interviews will be conducted in early October. This is sponsored by the local Rotary Club. For more information, call 289-2668.

Each May, the Mayo TV Studio tapes the presentation of senior awards, scholarships and honors. The tape is broadcast in June on Channel 27, District 535's cable access station. Copies of the tape are available for sale for $5. For information, call Rochester Instructional TV System at 285-8060.

John Marshall

Sophomore Andy Vix, son of Bruce and Suzanne Vix, has been named Youth of the Month for April by the Youth Employment Project Inc. He was honored for his excellent work record and attitude.

Michelle Wolf, a junior at John Marshall, was awarded a certificate in the Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools Fourth Annual ``Excellence in Psychology'' Outstanding Student Award sponsored by the American Psychological Association. Students were chosen by their classroom teachers based on their exemplary achievement and efforts in the study of psychology. Only one student from a particular high school is eligible to receive this award.

John Adams

Team 801 teachers have nominated the following eighth-graders for the 1996 Gathering of Champions sponsored by the Minnesota Academic Excellence Foundation: Angela Plagge, Emily Snyder, Karl Friedrich, Todd Fister and Kyle Stirn. If selected, they will be treated to a day at the State Fair, meet state celebrities and attend a grandstand concert.

Victory Christian Academy

Commencement was May 17 at Victory Baptist Church.

The fourth-quarter ``A'' honor roll students are: Grade 8: Crystal Mulholland. Grade 9: Jennifer Bernard, Elizabeth Miller, Elizabeth Uit de Flesch, Aaron Vaneps and Leah Voigt. Grade 10: Ryan Cawley, Troy Downs, Kim Framsted and Seth Zrucky. Grade 12: Erin Cawley and Charis Mulholland.

St. Pius

The eighth grade will walk to Shakeys for lunch Wednesday. After the graduation mass practice that afternoon, the junior high students will have a yearbook signing party.

The eighth-grade awards ceremony will be 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The eighth-graders have no school Friday, but are asked to report to their homerooms at 6:30 p.m. Graduation Mass will be at 7 o'clock that evening. There will be a reception for graduates, friends and families after the ceremony. There will also be a party for eighth-graders that night.


The Green Team will go to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Blue Team will have its Medieval Festival, the Gold Team will visit the State Capitol and Science Museum, and the Red Team will visit the Rochester Athletic Club on June 5.

The Blue Team will go the the Minnesota Zoo, the Gold Team and the Orange Team will visit Whitewater, and the Yellow Team will go to Silver Lake on June 6.

Rochester Pentecostal School

Rochester Pentecostal School has been recognized for student attainment and educational leadership by the School of Tomorrow International Corporate Office. Students in Rochester Pentecostal exceeded in the required one-year academic achievement, while maintaining a minimum school grade point average of 97 percent.

Monday is the freshman field trip.

June 4 is freshman graduation.

The Junior High picnic is at Zemke's June 4.

June 6 is the last day of school. Classes are dismissed at 10:15 p.m. Parents must provide transportation.@et
