That was easy.
Rochester Mayo used plenty of thievery to bury Mankato East 53-27 in Big Nine Conference girls basketball on Thursday at McNish Gymnasium.
Mayo got four steals each from Julie Miller and Heather Khammavongsa. The Spartans also rode balanced scoring, with three players with at least nine points. Ann Flesher led the way with 13. Anna Hirssig and Rachael Doll had nine each.
Mayo led 25-13 at intermission.
Mayo held East's Kelsey Mosher to two points, which delighted Spartans coach Angie Meister.

"We focused on Mosher as she is such a physical player and good rebounder," Meister said. "I was really happy with how we came out tonight. We need to play a solid 36 minutees to compete, and we did that tonight."
