The Austin Bruins went 8-3-1 in 12 regular-season games against the Aberdeen Wings. That success mattered little in the playoffs, though, as the Wings swept the Bruins in three games to eliminate them from the NAHL postseason.
Owen DuBois was in the right place at the right time, converting a long rebound into a short-handed goal that held up as the game winner in the Aberdeen Wings victory against the Austin Bruins on Saturday at Riverside Arena.
The Austin Bruins took a two-goal lead into the third period of an NAHL playoff game Friday night, against a team that they had beaten eight out of 12 times this year. The Bruins lost that lead and Game 1 of the best-of-5 series against Aberdeen.
