The Rochester Raiders adapted softball team won its regular season home opener impressively on Wednesday 18-8 over St. Paul Humboldt.
Rochester scored 10 runs in the first two innings and the Raiders belted three home runs.
Calvin Gerdt of John Marshall hit a lead-off homer, JM's Sean Healy hit a grand slam, and Mayo senior Sarah-Rose Reed had a three-run blast.
"This was an awesome game for us to be able to get our entire roster into the game to have an impact," said Raiders head coach Ryan Bacon.
"It was teacher appreciation night and it was awesome to see all the support for our home opener," Bacon added. "The kids had a blast and performed really well. Hopefully we can build on this throughout the season."
