The Rochester Raiders used a potent attack at the plate on Wednesday to roll to a 17-7 victory against St. Paul Humboldt in their home opener at Rochester Century High School.
After a one-run first, the Raiders scored 16 runs over the next four innings to pull away.
Every spot in the lineup scored a run as 16 players had a hit in the game, with the biggest blow coming from Mayo's Gordon Maass, who had a pinch-hit three-run home run.
"The team had a lot of fun playing in front of the hometown fans," coach Ryan Bacon said. "The energy from the crowd was crucial to keep the team playing well."
The win caps a strong start to the season for the Raiders who are 2-0 in conference play and 4-1 overall.
