Mankato Invitational
The Rochester girls placed third and the boys fifth in a five-team ski meet Tuesday at Mount Kato.
Sophie Sargent led the Rochester girls by taking fifth place overall. Rachel Lovelace was seventh place overall, Erin Faubion 12th and Abbi Berg 17th. Medalist was Skye Sonnega of Northfield. Mankato West was team champion with 195 points. Northfield was second (182), Rochester third (149), Mankato East/Loyola fourth (88) and Lake Crystal Valley was fifth.
Joey Viggiano (ninth place overall) was the top finisher for the Rochester boys team. Danner Brummer was 23rd overall, Andrew Barnes 28th and Sam Fry 30th. In first was Elliot Bowman of Northfield. Lake Crystal Valley was team champion with 196 points, followed by Mankato West (172), Northfield (149), Mankato East/Loyola (101) and Rochester (81).
