Austin girls lose match in three games

ROCHESTER — The Austin High volleyball was swept by Rochester Mayo in Thursday night's Big Nine Conference match.

The Spartans won by scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-7. This was the first Big Nine Conference match of the season for both teams.

Nora Holtan had 18 assists, four kills and six aces for the Spartans. Mary Goergen added six kills and four aces. Mayo is 2-1 overall.

Austin (0-4 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) plays in the Mankato West Invitational on Saturday.
