LANSING — It's rare for Jason Cummins to go into July without a victory at Chateau Raceway.
But the veteran USRA Modified driver from New Richland hadn't won a feature at the track in five starts this season prior to Friday night, though he hadn't finished worse than third.
He broke into the victory column in impressive fashion on Friday, passing seven cars in eight laps to win for the first time this season at the track. Greg Pfeifer Jr. of Austin placed second.
Robbie Franklin of Shakopee was the hardest charger of the night. He started the Wissota Midwest Modifieds feature in Row 7, but the defending track champion came all the way through the pack to win in his first trip to Chateau this season. Dustin Steinbrink of Austin placed second.
AJ Zvorak from Blooming Prairie won a USRA B-Modifieds feature that was plagued by eight yellow flags. Kylie Kath from Owatonna was second.

Other winners Friday were Chris Hotovec of Dodge Center (Pure Stocks), Mike Blowers of Waseca (Wissota Street Stocks), and Ralph Hanks of Waseca (Hornets).
This Friday is the track's fireworks special, and NASCAR driver Michael McDowell will be at the track with his Sprint Cup car for a meet-and-greet.
