OWATONNA — It was literally lights out for the Century baseball team in a doubleheader Tuesday night on the road against Owatonna.
Century and Owatonna split the two games, and the second game was delayed midway through for 45 minutes by a power outage that turned off the stadium lights.
Owatonna (8-2, 7-1) won the first game 9-7, and Century (5-4, 5-4) came back to win the second game 6-2 and deal the Huskies their first Big Nine Conference defeat.
"A few critical defensive mistakes cost Century in the first game," Century coach J.D. Bickle said.
Jordan Jasik had a productive night for Century, going 5-for-8 with six stolen bases in the two games. Jasik now has 15 steals this season.

In game two Century held on due a good pitching performance by sophomore starter Ross Luinenburg, according to coach J.D. Bickle.
"I am very proud of how Ross and our team responded in game two," Bickle said. "We bounced back after a tough loss where we had bases loaded in the top of the seventh and couldn't tie."
Nick Smith came in to pitch the bottom of the seventh to seal the victory for Century.
"We didn't have an error in the second game," Bickle noted. "We need to continue to improve our defense and eliminate mental mistakes. When we do that we are a very competitive team."
Century has a doubleheader at home Thursday against Faribault.
