The Rochester Honkers split games with the Eau Claire Express over the weekend, losing 5-2 Saturday and winning 2-1 Sunday behind stellar pitching by Erik Cha in Northwoods League baseball.
Cha (Cal State Fullerton) threw seven innings Sunday at Mayo Field, allowing one run on three hits and three walks.
The Honkers took the lead in the second inning when Casey Worden (UC-Riverside) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. That scored Kyle Kasser (Oregon) to put the Honkers up 1-0.
Rochester's other run came in the bottom of the seventh, after the Express had tied the score in the sixth.
It was a Joey Dzarske (Cal State Northridge) single that scored Mile Lewis (North Dakota) with the winning run.

Stevie Ledesma (Santa Barbara City) got the save, allowing one hit in the final two innings.
Rochester finished with nine hits. Jackson Thoreson (St. Mary's) and Lewis each had two.
The Honkers host Mankato at 12:05 p.m. Monday.

Honkers fall short against Express
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The Rochester Honkers got off to a good start Saturday night but couldn't hang on as they fell 5-2 to the Eau Claire Express.
The Honkers grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning, with Josh Hauser (Tennessee-Martin) driving in Brett Harrison (North Dakota) with a single.
The Express went to work in the fifth when they scored three runs to grab the lead for good.

David Worrell (Corpus Christi) was the starting and losing pitcher. He lasted five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk. Brett Herber (Winona State) pitched two innings in relief.
Kyle Kasser (Oregon) led the Honkers by going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Harrison was also 2-for-3.
