MANKATO — The Rochester John Marshall baseball team swept a pair of Big Nine Conference games from Mankato West on Thursday night.
In Game 1, the Rockets had just three hits, but Ryan Lakin smacked a two-run triple in the fifth inning. Lakin also was superb on the mound, going all seven innings to record the victory.
In Game 2, the Rockets capitalized on nine walks. They exploded for five runs in the first inning. Anthony Johnson had two doubles and three RBIs, while Pat Windish recorded the win on the mound.
The Rockets return to action at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mayo Field against crosstown rival Rochester Mayo.
