Baseball | Owatonna nips JM

OWATONNA — Brett Meger drove in the winning run with a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Owatonna past John Marshall 2-1 in Big Nine Conference baseball on Saturday.

John Marshall managed just three hits. Owatonna starter Mike Sebring struck out 14 in six innings of work.

JM starter Ray Lakin allowed just four hits and struck out seven in six innings.

"Ryan Lakin pitched a good game ," JM coach Dutch Heiderscheit said. "We didn't hit the ball well enough to win."

The Rockets host Faribault on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at John Adams Middle School.
