The Royals needed some last-inning heroics to slip past Miesville on Friday.

Mudhens starting pitcher Matt Moore took a 1-0 lead and a no-hitter into the ninth inning. But the Royals scored five runs on three hits in the inning and knocked Moore out with one out in the ninth.

Milene walked and Gabe Sepulveda followed with a two-run double to put the Royals up 4-1. Sepulveda later scored on an error for the final Royals run.

Left-hander Matteo Finocchi pitched the first eight innings to earn the victory. He allowed one earned run on nine hits and struck out 13.

Meyer pitched a rocky bottom of the ninth, but escaped allowing just one run. He allowed two hits and walked two.
